Mesa, AZ – 88.7 The Pulse (KVIT-FM), the student-run radio station at the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), is bringing live coverage of East Valley high school baseball and softball to the airwaves this season. From March 28 to April 28, The Pulse will broadcast six featured matchups, showcasing top teams from Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, and Ahwatukee.
This season’s schedule includes powerhouse programs such as the 2024 6A Baseball State Champions, Queen Creek Bulldogs, the 2024 6A Softball State Champions, Xavier Gators, and the 2023 4A Baseball State Champions, Saguaro Sabercats.
Hands-On Experience for Future Sports Broadcasters
The broadcasts are produced entirely by students in EVIT’s Radio/Audio Production program, giving aspiring sports broadcasters hands-on experience in play-by-play announcing, color commentary, and live production. Students also manage pre- and post-game coverage, gaining real-world skills in sports media.
A Legacy of High School Sports Coverage
Pulse Sports has been the go-to source for live high school sports coverage in the East Valley for a decade, featuring football, basketball, baseball, and softball. 88.7 The Pulse is also a nationally recognized, award-winning station, earning the title of Best High School Radio Station in the Nation by the John Drury National High School Radio Awards in 2020-2021 and 2022-2023.
